The Lawrenceburg Community Theatre has received a significant boost through the Tennessee Arts Commission’s Arts Builds Community Grant. This funding will enable hundreds of second-grade students from both public and private schools in Lawrence County to attend a special matinee performance of “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” at no charge. Scheduled for Friday, March 14th, 2025, this event will take place at the historic Crockett Theater, aligning with LCT’s commitment to making live theater accessible to everyone.
This initiative is the result of dedicated efforts by grant coordinators Kathy Burns and Bethany Nelson, along with grant writer Nancy Brewer. Their goal is to introduce young learners to the world of performing arts, nurturing a passion for creativity, storytelling, and the magic of live performances.
In addition to the complimentary school performance, “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” will also be showcased for the general public with three additional performances at the Crockett Theater. The schedule includes a show on Friday, March 14th at 7:00 PM, another on Saturday, March 15th at 7:00 PM, and a matinee on Sunday, March 16th at 2:00 PM. Tickets for these public performances can be purchased online at www.purplepass.com/lctbeautybeastjr or by contacting PurplePass at 1-800-316-8559.
