James Coleman Beavers, 81, of Rogersville died Friday, February 2, 2024, at Madison Hospital.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 6, 2024, 12-2 PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral will follow at 2 PM in the chapel with Jerry Marlow and Audie Bogus officiating. Burial will be at Barnett Cemetery.
Mr. Beavers was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Zadie Brown Beavers; brother, Gene Beavers (Willie T.).
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Merel Holden Beavers; children, Jamie Allen (Randy), Brent Beavers (Lesley), and Austin Gerald Newton, Jr. (Tonya); grandchildren, Kaile Allen, Jaren Allen, Regan Beavers, Ryan Beavers, Ansley Crowden (Will), and Holden Newton (Cassie); great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Liam Crowden; sisters, Linda Beavers and Sherri Spires.
Mr. Beavers has been a member of numerous Gospel Groups and Bluegrass Bands.
