A man from Lawrence County has been indicted on theft charges following two separate investigations by the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office. Bradley Lee, the former general manager of the Leoma Utility District, is facing charges after investigators found that he misappropriated district funds totaling at least $7,944.08 from December 2020 through December 2022. During this time, Lee made personal purchases from Amazon, bought automobile-related items, and used the district’s petty cash for his own benefit. Additionally, he fabricated invoices and provided false justifications for his purchases in an attempt to conceal his theft.
In a separate investigation, Lee was found to have misappropriated at least $1,134.56 while serving with the Center Point Volunteer Fire Department. He used a fire department fuel card to purchase $886.55 in fuel for his personal vehicle, avoiding paying $248.01 in taxes on these fuel purchases. Lee repaid the fire department in April and May of 2023.
As a result of these findings, Bradley Lee has been indicted on one count of theft over $1,000, one count of theft of property over $2,500, one count of computer crimes, three counts of criminal simulation, and one count of official misconduct.
