Local Man in Lawrence County Charged with Drug Offenses

Over the weekend, a man from Lawrence County found himself in legal trouble as deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant. The incident unfolded at a property on Grinnell Drive, where Shane Joseph Jeffries was the subject of the active warrant.

Upon reaching the location, deputies encountered a situation where no one responded to their calls at the door. Despite the initial setback, they spotted Jeffries inside the residence. After persistent efforts to establish contact by knocking and identifying themselves, deputies successfully engaged with Jeffries.

Following the interaction, Jeffries was promptly placed under arrest. Subsequent searches of both the property and Jeffries led to the discovery of a plastic bag containing a white crystal-like substance and a glass pipe. Consequently, Jeffries now confronts charges related to possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, in addition to the legal implications stemming from his three outstanding warrants.
