Rodney D. Baggett, Sr.
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Rodney D. Baggett, Sr., who departed this world on July 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in New Brockton, Alabama, Rodney dedicated his life to his family, his work, and his community.
Rodney was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent his entire career in the textile industry, leaving a lasting impact with his strong work ethic and humility. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Mary, for 55 years, and together they built a legacy of love, faith, and family.
He is survived by his children: Rodney (wife Beverly), Rick (wife Linda), and Jamie Bracewell (husband Ron), who carry forward his strength, warmth, and unwavering devotion to family. Rodney was a proud grandfather to Jason (wife Adelle), Erik (wife Angel), and Brittany Box (husband Nick), and his joy multiplied with the arrival of his great-grandchildren and great-great-grandsons.
Rodney was a man of strong faith and servant leadership, actively involved in the Rotary Club and faithfully serving at Choate’s Creek United Methodist Church. He was known for his love of Alabama football, his passion for cooking, and his selfless nature, always putting others before himself.
His legacy of love, service, and kindness lives on in the generations he guided and inspired. Rodney will be remembered as a selfless giver, a wise and gentle presence, and a steady rock to all who knew him.
The family will receive friends at Choates Creek United Methodist Church on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, with funeral services to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in his memory to Choate’s Creek United Methodist Church or a charity meaningful to you.
Rodney’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. May he rest in peace.
