Betty Sue Wade Reedy, 88, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center. She was born on August 17, 1936, in Loretto, TN, to the late Clayton Dewey Wade and the late Hettie Bailey Wade. Betty married James Wiley Reedy on May 21, 1971, and together they built a beautiful life.
Betty was a dedicated teacher’s assistant for the Maury County school system for many years. She cherished her family and adored spending time with her grandchildren. Her love for God was evident in all aspects of her life. Betty was a devoted member of Greymere Church of Christ.
She is survived by her loving husband, James; her son, Mark (Kristy) Reedy of New Prospect, TN; grandchildren, Zach and Taylor Reedy of New Prospect, TN; and her sister, Francis Jordan of Mountain Home, AR. Betty was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Reedy.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home, with Andrew Phillips and Chad Landman officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Betty will be laid to rest in Polk Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Tim Hammers, Eric Jordan, Scott Reedy, Roger Dale Reedy, Scott Freemon, and Bill Martin. The elders of Greymere Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers.
