Betty Mae Smith, 91, of Summertown, TN, passed away on Wednesday, March 05, 2025, at her residence. She was a beloved member of the community, having retired from Murray Ohio and being an active member of Summertown Baptist Church.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Edgar and Lucinda Voss Clifft; two sons, Jerry Wayne Smith and Tony Smith; seven sisters, Helen Staggs, Felicia Riley, Alice Davis, Josephine Favors, Mattie Welch, Ola Barnett, and Linda Sue Cotton; and two brothers, Richard Clifft and George Clifft.
She is survived by her loving husband, William Smith of Summertown, TN; two daughters, Joan Konig (Jimmy) and Judy Dickson (Danny), both of Summertown, TN; one son, Jeff Smith (Linda) of Summertown, TN; two daughters-in-law, Debbie Smith and Angie Smith, both of Summertown, TN; ten grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday, March 07, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM on the same day, with interment to follow at Freedom Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Summertown Baptist Church, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be sent through the funeral home’s website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
Betty will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
