Margaret Jewel Hammond, age 95, of Leoma, TN, passed away on January 1, 2025, at home after a brief illness. She was a beloved homemaker and seamstress for Salant & Salant and Kay Windsor. Margaret was a devoted member of Antioch United Methodist Church and a proud member of UMW- United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hammond Myrick/Hines of Lawrenceburg, TN, grandson Ethan Bradley Myrick (Melissa), and great-granddaughters Morgan Jade Myrick and Aubrey Scotlynn Myrick. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Hammond, her parents Frank and Viola Yeager Crews, her brother Harold New, her sisters Mildred Crews Wood and Clara Crews Mabry/Adair, and her son-in-laws Scottie Lee Myrick and James Larry Hines.
Funeral services will be held at Antioch United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 3:00 pm, with Pastor Martha Davison officiating. Burial will follow in Freemon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on the same day at the church.
Margaret will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
