Carolyn June Graves Sandlin

Carolyn June Graves Sandlin, age 90, passed away on February 4, 2026. She was the daughter of the late O. C. (Dad) and Charlotte Frances Smith Graves. June was the beloved wife of the late Ludon Allen Sandlin, a farmer. She dedicated her life to service, working as a legal secretary for Harwell and Boston Law Firm and serving as the secretary of Highland Park Baptist Church. She was a founding member of the church, a Sunday School teacher for over 60 years, and directed the Community Day Care at the church for almost 20 years. June’s passion for music led her to play the piano and organ at the church. She was known for her unwavering faith and commitment to sharing the love of the Lord, touching many lives through her daily witness.

June is survived by her two sisters, Marilyn Graves Eells and Shirley Jean Graves, her three children, Dawn Sandlin Brown, David (Meredith) Sandlin, and Christi (Myron) Robbins, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Highland Park Baptist Church on Sunday, February 8th, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately at Eagle Factory Cemetery. The family requests that friends and family gather for food and fellowship at June’s home following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Park Baptist Church. Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home is honored to be handling all final arrangements. Brother Ricky Cotton will be officiating the service.

June will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of faith and service will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
