Charles William Lyons

Charles William Lyons, known affectionately as Dad and Paw, passed away on the morning of September 6, 2025, at the age of 87. He spent his final days surrounded by his Savior and loved ones. Charles was born on May 30, 1938, and lived a life filled with love, family, and cherished pastimes.

He found joy in caring for his cattle and sharing stories of new calves and the occasional spotting of different animals in his field. Charles also enjoyed watching old western shows and bull riding from the comfort of his recliner. He had a love for home-cooked meals and was known for his warm and welcoming spirit.

Charles was married to Sandra Lyons for 68 years and together they raised four boys, and their family continued to grow with 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a devoted member of the Thousand Hills Cowboy Church and found solace in reuniting with the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra, and his parents, Johnnie Robert and Ruby L. Phillips Lyons, as well as his brother Robert Lyons and sister Jewel Casteel. Charles is survived by his brothers, Jesse and Tommy, his sisters, Linda Ray and Shirley Corbin, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Neal Funeral Home on Monday, September 8, 2025, and funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Interment will follow at Ethridge Masonic Cemetery in Ethridge, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Charles will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched. His love, presence, and conversations will be cherished, and his family takes comfort in the hope of seeing him again one day.
