Constance Gilbert Esmond

Constance “Connie” Gilbert Esmond, a beacon of warmth and wisdom, gained her heavenly wings on Sunday, June 30, 2024, in Smyrna, TN. Born to Tootsie and Thomas Gilbert on December 31, 1966. 

Connie’s life was centered around serving our Lord and Savior, love, family, friends, and community service. Connie was known for her wit and ability to change the atmosphere. She was the life of the party, and her presence will be missed in many places. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas E. Gilbert, grandparents Rev. John A. Tucker and Vivian Tucker, Mr. Hard and Mattie Gilbert, and loving aunts and uncles. 

She is survived by her devoted husband Willie “Donnell” Esmond; daughters Nikiya “Marcus” Bledsoe and Nia “Christopher” Nichols; sister Cleshette “Lewis” Hudson; Mother Tootsie A Gilbert and grandchildren Braylon Bledsoe, Taelyn Bledsoe, and Malia “Lovey” Bledsoe. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 11:00am until 12:00pm at First Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 12:00pm.

Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
