Elzie Stooksberry, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away on January 24, 2025, joining his siblings in Heaven. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Brenda Dishongh Stooksberry; his children, Lisa Stooksberry Hill and Scott Stooksberry; his cherished grandchildren, Mitchell, Brooklyn, and Brennan; as well as numerous family members and friends.
Elzie was known for his strong character, humor, and willingness to help others. He was a dedicated family man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His storytelling and infectious laughter will be remembered fondly by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Polio Heroes of Tennessee (Easterseals) or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASCPA).
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Elzie’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
