Jane McGuire Springer, 87, of Florence, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025. She was born July 28, 1937, in Loretto, Tennessee.
Jane was a devoted wife, sharing 67 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, WO Springer. Together, they found great joy in traveling and Alabama athletics, never missing an opportunity to cheer on their team.
Her circle of friends and family was small, but she loved fiercely. A true caretaker with a giving heart, Jane was always there for her family and friends. She loved decorating, shopping, and creating a warm and welcoming home, especially during the holidays. She took great pride in hosting family gatherings, bringing her loved ones together with grace and joy.
She also had a long, successful career in finance, holding various positions with Borden and Company and Avalon Investments and Securities until her retirement at the age of 81.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, W.O. Springer; her great-grandson, Turner Wilbanks, her sister, Ann Beggs, and her parents, Gordon and Mabel McGuire.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Michelle Springer Cabler (Mark Cabler); grandchildren, Alyssa Wilbanks (Cody), Will Cabler (Daisy), and Cade Cabler; great-grandchildren, Palmer and Murphy Wilbanks; sister, Linda Crowson; brother-in-law, Howard Beggs, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for the family will be at Greenhill Funeral Home Friday, April 4, 2025 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. A private graveside service will follow at Restview Cemetery in Loretto, TN.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
