Janet Lynn Beegle Abernathy, age 51, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on February 10th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Janet was known for her firecracker spirit, wittiness, and her love for fishing. She was born on January 3rd, 1974, in Huntsville, Alabama.
She is survived by her father, Ernie (Joyce) Beegle of Hazlegreen, Alabama, and her mother, Mary E. Holley of Pulaski, Tennessee. Janet is also survived by her daughter, Shantel (James) McElrath, and her son, Joseph (Cia) Johnson, both of Pulaski, Tennessee. She leaves behind six beloved grandchildren, Kasen McElrath, Kaisyn Johnson, Kyren Johnson, Riley McElrath, Alexiana McElrath, and Lunabella Johnson.
Janet was preceded in death by her niece Ashley Beth Rolin, brother-in-law Harold Rolin, step-father Charles Holley, maternal grandparents Henry and Roberta Medley, and paternal grandparents Albert Fox and Zela Beegle.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13th, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory. The funeral service will take place on Friday, February 14th, 2025, at 1:00pm in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home. The burial will be at Giles Memory Gardens in Pulaski, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Cancer Center of Columbia or Compassus Hospice in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Janet will be deeply missed by her family, including her sisters, Kim Rolin of Pulaski, Tennessee, and Pam Beegle of Hazlegreen, Alabama, her brothers, Chris Beegle and Tim Beegle, both of Pulaski, Tennessee, and her step-brother, Chris Marshall of Hazelgreen, AL. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
