Russell “Rusty” Lynn Trapp, age 62, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on Monday, January 19th, 2026 at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. Rusty was born on September 9th, 1963, in Lawrenceburg. He was a dedicated construction worker, specializing in drywall hanging/finishing and bricklaying. In his leisure time, he found joy in hunting, fishing, trapping, and cherishing moments with his beloved family and friends. Rusty was a faithful member of the Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his father, Travis “Bear” Carlton Trapp, and his brothers, Joel Trapp, Dana Dale Trapp, and Michael Alan Winnings.
Rusty is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Amy Trapp; mother, Betty Trapp; children, Casey Trapp, Hannah Trapp, and Chad Trapp; sisters, Melisa Gobble (Terry), Janet Trapp, and Lee Donna Trapp; brother, Todd Trapp (Donna); six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Jimmy Taylor Jr.
A memorial service will be announced at a later time. Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be handling all final arrangements.
