Jimmie Preston “J.P.” Kilburn, age 80, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on Saturday, January 18th, 2025 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems in Lawrenceburg. J.P. was born on November 22nd, 1944 to the late Milas and Velma Kilburn in Lawrenceburg. J.P. retired from Murray Ohio Manufacturing plant and would go on to run a successful advertising business called Lawrenceburg Calendar and Novelties. He was a member of the Mimosa Masonic Lodge #542 in Lawrenceburg. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, working, collecting antiques, and spending time with his loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joey Kilburn; granddaughter, Kelsey Lynn Kilburn; sisters, Lorene Hancock, Carolyn Holt, and Virginia Luffman. He is survived by his son, Gary Kilburn (Sherry); grandchildren, Kara Glass (Jonathan), Hannah Clanton (Josh), Olivia Kilburn, Sophie Kilburn, Blaze Kilburn, Blaine Kilburn (Mackenzie), and Haili Griego (Nic); great-grandchildren, Neyland Dishongh, Oaklynn Glass, Maverick Clanton, Penelope Griego, Natalie Kilburn, Phoebe Griego, and Koda Kilburn; sisters, Jeannette Demers and Wanda Price.
Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Brother J.D. Bosheers will be officiating. Interment will be held at Kidd Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home is in charge of handling all final arrangements.
