Lanny Whitman McCormack of Prospect, Tennessee passed away Thursday evening on May 2nd, 2024, at his home in Giles County. He was born on January 29th, 1950 in Colbert County, Alabama and was 74 years old.
Lanny was a loving brother, father, and grandfather. He was a helicopter pilot for the U.S. Army in Vietnam and a C-141 pilot for the Unites States Air Force. He was a farmer and retired from NOAA. Lanny enjoyed fishing, reading, and spending time on the boat.
A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Lanny was preceded in death by his parents, Zollie Whitman and Evelyn Jenette McCormack, and nephew, Whit McCormack.
