Marilyn June Shelton, 71, of Loretto, TN, passed away on November 22, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. She was a cherished homemaker and a devoted member of the Baptist faith. Marilyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 55 years, Terance Shelton, of Loretto, TN; her sons, Terry Shelton Jr. (Diana) of Chapmansboro, TN, and Ben Shelton of Loretto, TN; her grandchildren, Michael Shelton (Betty), Nick Shelton (Faria), Bailey Shelton, Avery Shelton (Lily), Austin Shelton, Dusty Morris, Joseph Shelton, Summer Ellison (Matt), and Autum Shelton; as well as 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Buster Littrell (Pat), and her sister, Kim Beckman, both of Loretto, TN. Marilyn was also dearly loved by her faithful pet, Teddy, who never left her side.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Littrell Alsup, and her sons, Joseph Shelton and Sammy Shelton.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be announced at a later date. The Loretto Memorial Chapel is in charge of all arrangements. Marilyn will be remembered for her love, kindness, and the impact she had on the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
