Reba Kathleen Benefield Davenport

Reba Kathleen Benefield Davenport, 95, of Lawrence County, TN, passed away on May 20th, 2025, at her residence. She was a devoted homemaker, a member of Unity Baptist Church, and a successful farmer alongside her husband, Ernest Fred Davenport, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. Kathleen was born on January 11th, 1930, to Oscar J and Lorene Bates Benefield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Davenport, her son, Jerry Davenport, her parents, Oscar J and Lorene Bates Benefield, three sisters, Betty Bryant, Nell Bryant, and Jane Davenport, and a brother, Oscar Andy Benefield.

Kathleen is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Pam) Davenport of Summertown, TN, a daughter-in-law, Sandy Davenport of Columbia, TN, four brothers, Mack (Mary) Benefield, Jack (Merriss) Benefield of Summertown, TN, Ed Benefield of Hendersonville, TN, and Ronnie (Cindy) Benefield of Rogersville, AL, a sister, Annie Benefield of Cornville, AZ, four grandchildren, Mandy (Cassius) Hayes, Ross (Lizzy) Davenport, Victoria (Jarrod) Jacobs, and Flint Webb, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Kathleen was blessed with loving friends and caregivers, including Sherry Keeton, Patsy Keeton, Olivia Williams, Glenda Cox, and Molly Shaffer with Compassus. She also had a faithful and loving friend, Ginny Laws, who will miss her terribly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday (8/30) at 10 am at Unity Baptist Church. Arrangements are being handled by Williams Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Unity Baptist Mission Fund, 20 Brace Rd, Summertown, TN 38483.
