Sara F. Dowdy, 84, of Killen, passed away on August 1, 2025, at El Reposo Nursing Facility. She was a devoted homemaker and a cherished member of Center Star Baptist Church.
Sara is survived by her loving daughters: Tina Delony (Kevin), Charlotte Mathis, and Belinda Green (Mark); her dear sister, Wanda Creasy; her adored grandchildren: Brandi Romine, Barry Marthis (Mindy), Tara Schurfeld, Katie Eldridge (Taylor), and Alex Barber; and her cherished great-grandchildren: Carter Mathis, Maggie Mathis, Theo Mathis, Braxton Davis, Bryson Mathis, Vivian Eldridge, and Slade Schurfeld.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Douglas Dowdy; her parents, Hershal Hubbard and Letha Hubbard; her brothers, Billy Joe Hubbard and Larry David Hubbard; and her sisters, Margaret Marie Hubbard, Nannie Dee Rhodes, Thelma Jean Hayes, Jewel Roberson, and Barbara Sue Murphy.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, with Ronnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities. Pallbearers will include Dale Hayes, Alex Barber, Kevin Delony, Braxton Davis, and Bryson Mathis.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Affinity Hospice, all the staff at El Reposo Nursing Home, and the staff at Greenhill Funeral Home for their exceptional care and support during this difficult time.
