The individual making the complaint is also in the process of renovating another property located on Buffalo Road in Ethridge. They indicated that the disappearance of the items coincided with a recent lawn care service that had mowed the yard. Among the missing items were a set of deer antlers, a full five-gallon gas can, and a small step stool. Notably, the complainant mentioned that the deer antlers were later spotted at a nearby residence and were successfully retrieved after a conversation with someone at that location.
As the investigation progressed, additional items were found to be missing. The complainant speculated that the lawn care worker might have taken the items, although investigators pointed out that the property is often accessed by various individuals, including transients, who may enter unoccupied homes. The total estimated value of the missing items is reported to be less than $100.
In response to the allegations, the lawn care worker was contacted and explained that any items that may have been taken could have inadvertently ended up in their vehicle. They also mentioned that personal fuel was utilized during the job. This exchange was captured on body camera footage, although it did not constitute a formal interview or detention. The case is still under investigation, and there is a possibility that more items may be reported missing as inquiries continue.
