Shelter Officials Speak to Lawrenceburg Rotary Club

During the recent gathering of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club, attendees had the opportunity to hear from Karen Niedergeses, the Director of The Shelter, Inc., along with Lead Advocate Brittany Evans. Their presentation focused on the vital role that The Shelter plays as a refuge for individuals affected by domestic violence.

The speakers elaborated on the organization’s core mission, the range of services it offers, and the pressing needs it currently faces. They also addressed important topics related to victim advocacy, shedding light on the challenges and support systems in place for those seeking help. At present, The Shelter is actively assisting between 30 and 40 clients, with eight individuals receiving housing support. It is important to note that the organization’s operations, including staff salaries and services, are entirely funded by contributions from the local community.
