In Lawrence County, new details have emerged regarding the tragic crash that claimed the lives of two individuals on Saturday afternoon. Reports suggest that a Mazda CX3, driven by Caitlin Price, was heading north on Highway 43 near the Highway 64 Bypass in Lawrenceburg around 2:30 PM. At that moment, a Chevrolet Silverado, operated by Hector Guillermo Ortiz, made a left turn directly in the path of the Mazda, resulting in a head-on collision as the Mazda was traveling south.
The impact caused the Mazda to spin counterclockwise and come to a stop in the northbound lanes facing south. The Silverado, on the other hand, came to a halt in the road facing south. Tragically, both Price and Ortiz lost their lives at the scene of the accident. Additionally, three juveniles sustained injuries in the collision.
Authorities have disclosed that the Tennessee Highway Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. The community mourns the loss of the two individuals and hopes for a swift recovery for those injured in the incident.
