In an effort to enhance convenience for residents, Lawrence County government is set to launch mobile drop-off sites for garbage across the county this week. The sites will operate from 6 to 10 AM on specific days, catering to different areas.
On Tuesdays, residents can drop off their garbage at the Loretto Wastewater Treatment Plant on Busby Road. Wednesdays will see the West End Community Club on Waynesboro Highway as the drop-off location. Thursdays will be designated for the Summertown Fire Hall on Highway 20, while Fridays will have the New Prospect Fire Hall on Pulaski Highway open for drop-offs.
This initiative aims to provide a convenient option for those living in outlying areas, eliminating the need to travel into town to dispose of their items. Additionally, county recycling garbage bags will be accessible at these sites, promoting sustainable waste management practices within the community.
