Barbara Fay Richardson Peters Brown, 86, of Loretto, TN, passed away on January 7, 2026. She was a devoted Christian and a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Loretto, where she served as an organist for over 50 years and taught Sunday School for 57 years. Barbara was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also retired from Brown’s Ferry, where she worked as the Plant Manager Administrative Assistant. Barbara was known for her skill as a seamstress and enjoyed making dresses for her grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother Nancy Elizabeth Stanford Richardson, her husbands Lenard E. Peters and Bobby D. Brown, her son Mark David Peters, and her siblings E.C. Richardson, Harolyn, Carolyn, and Danny T. Richardson, as well as her nephew Alan Richardson.
She is survived by her sons Scott Eric Peters and Lenard Brett Peters (Anna), daughter-in-law Beverly Harlan Peters, brother Mickey Richardson (Layne), sister-in-law Roberta Richardson, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, and nephews Mike and Brian Richardson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Loretto First Baptist Church, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM with Bro. Larry Smart, Bro. Sammy Wallace, and Bro. Kevin Cheatum officiating. Burial will take place in Liberty Grove Cemetery. Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
