Charles “Charley” P. Waldrop, 67, of Rogersville, AL, passed away on January 31, 2026, after an extended illness. He was a beloved delivery driver for The Times Daily and a faithful member of the Church of Christ. Charley was a native of Lauderdale Co, AL, and will be remembered for his dedication to his community and his unwavering faith.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Shelton Waldrop, his daughter Miranda Waldrop Shadrick (Jacob), his mother Jean Waldrop, his brother Rick Waldrop (Marsha), and his brother-in-law Barry Shelton (Robin). Charley was also a cherished grandfather to John Tollie Shadrick, Dolton Waldrop Shadrick, and Matthew Bryant Shadrick.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Waldrop Sr., and his favorite neighbor, Jean Kelley.
Funeral services will be held at Lexington Church of Christ on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 2:00 pm, with Danny Pettus and Brian Jarrett officiating. Burial will follow in Pettus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on the same day at Lexington Church of Christ.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. David A. Hollis, Vickie Grisham, Amedysis Hospice, especially Carmen, Amanda, and special great-niece Sarah Kelley Legg.
Charley will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
