Charlie Monroe Luna Sr., age 71, of Loretto, TN, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at his home after an extended illness. He was a dedicated member of the community, having served as the former Chief of Loretto Fire Department and an Associate Member of Natchez Trace Fraternal Order of Police #33. Charlie was a retired employee of Murray Ohio and a stocker at Sam’s. He was a man of faith and will be remembered for his commitment to his family and community.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorene Killen Luna, and his children: Bobby Joe Killen, Andy Luna, Chuck Luna, and Sharon Brown. Charlie is also survived by his brothers, Michael, Tommy, Rex, Stevie, and Marty Luna, as well as his sisters, Rebecca Pruitt, Kathy Raines, and Gail Tidwell. He leaves behind eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his beloved fur babies, Sammy and Brandy.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Carlene Carter Luna, and his sister, Linda Williams.
A graveside service will be held at Leoma Cemetery on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 12:30 pm, with Rodney Livingston officiating. Prior to the service, visitation will take place from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Loretto Memorial Chapel.
Charlie will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and he will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and community. May he rest in peace.
