Clara May Jett, age 88, of Summertown, TN, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Mt. Pleasant Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Mount Pleasant, TN. She was a beloved member of the community, known for her caring nature and dedication to her family and church.
Clara was born in Ethridge, TN, and was a devoted member of Barnesville Baptist Church. She was also a cherished babysitter and a member of the Ethridge Eastern Star. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Ester Rawdon Gwin; her husband, Hilliard Carlton Jett; her son, William Robert Jennings, Jr; and her siblings, Sara Ruth Gwin, Lillian Sue Ray, Johnny Gwin, and Gene Gwin.
She is survived by her loving son, Kerry Mac Jennings of Summertown, TN; her daughter, Edith Jennings Helton of Summertown, TN; as well as her grandchildren, Kala Garrett of Lewisburg, TN, and Joanna Conley (Dalton) of Dayton, TN. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Vira Garrett, Jase, and Jett Conley.
The family will receive friends at Neal Funeral Home on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 17, 2025, with interment to follow at Ethridge Masonic Cemetery in Ethridge, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to Barnesville Baptist Church.
Clara’s kindness and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family and community. May she rest in peace.
