Darlene Mead Weems of Florence, Alabama, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024, at the age of 66.
A memorial service will be held on Friday February 16, 2024, at 2pm at Elkins Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Weems, and father, Frank Mead.
Darlene attended the University of North Alabama, where she served as a “Golden Girl” ambassador for the college. Later she worked in marketing for a local radio station. Darlene was from a military family and identified herself as an Army Brat. She was very proud of her German heritage, enjoyed riding motorcycles and listening to live music. Her mother, Marianne Mead, was her best friend. They were inseparable and even traveled the world together. Darlene was a great fan of holidays and loved celebrating them . She will always be remembered by her contagious laugh, big beautiful brown eyes and warm smile. Darlene will be missed with much love by her dear mother Marianne Mead and family, to include several brothers and sisters-in-law and a long list of nieces and nephews.
