Earlene Townsend Bassham, 88, of Minor Hill, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Pulaski NHC. She was born on April 11, 1936 in Minor Hill, TN to Earl E. and Annie H. Townsend. Earlene had a passion for growing flowers, solving crossword puzzles, and collecting owls, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Annie, her husband of 63 years, Douglas N. Bassham, as well as several brothers and sisters. Earlene is survived by her daughter, Cindy Emerson (Mack) of Minor Hill, brothers Joe Townsend (Carol) of Anderson, AL, Smitty Townsend of Minor Hill, sister Annie Hendrix (David) of Minor Hill, grandchildren Chase Emerson (Beth), Colby Emerson (Jenny), and great-grandchildren Cally Emerson and Sawyer Emerson.
Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home, with the funeral service following at 12pm on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Interment will take place at New Salem Cemetery.
Earlene will be dearly missed by her family and friends, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
