James Arnold “Jimmy” Grimes, 70, of Florence, passed away on April 10, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center. Jimmy was a devoted husband to Linda, his wife of 46 years, and took pride in caring for her. He served with honor in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of the Korean War. After 45 years of dedicated service, he retired from AT&T.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Linda Myrick Grimes, his son Kenneth Myrick (Lori), his daughter Paula “Sissy” Gargis (Paul), and his cherished grandchildren Ethan Myrick, Hannah Beth Myrick, and Kendal Myrick.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Grimes and Betty Austin Grimes, his brothers Roger Grimes and Tony Grimes, his sister Brenda Grimes, and his granddaughter Emma Grace Blankenship.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 2:00pm, at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, with Bro. Tim Grigsby officiating. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Jamie Hammond, Drew Thigpen, Henry Walker, Roy Burks, Russ South, and Brady South.
Jimmy will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his commitment to his work. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
