James “Jimmy” Storey Bass, 79, of Pulaski, passed away on January 24, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia. He was born on May 26, 1946, in Pulaski, TN, to John Alfred and Ethelene Storey Bass. Jimmy was a devoted member of Cedar Grove Methodist Church and a proud member of the American Legion. He served as an Ambulance Driver in Huntsville, AL, and was “semi-retired” from Napa Auto Parts. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing, and was an avid Nascar fan.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Bass, and his brothers Jon Bass (Polly) of Hazel Green, AL, and Bill Bass of Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ethelene Bass, and his sister, Ann Bland, as well as his sister-in-law, Billie Faye Bass. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow at 1 pm. Interment will take place at Giles Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Giles County Humane Association.
Carr & Erwin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Jimmy will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
