James Weeks, age 75, of Mount Pleasant, TN, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at his residence. He was a native of the Center Community in Lawrence County, TN, retired from Dana Corporation, and a member of Summertown Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Casker and Tressie Laney Weeks; one daughter, Jamie Renea Weeks; three brothers, Robert Weeks, Aubry Weeks, and Ray Weeks; and four sisters, Dorothy Pickens, Hazel Garland, Mildred Jackson, and Linda Mabry.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Betty Bailey Weeks; one daughter, Kimberly Hendrix (Tim); two grandsons, Randall Hendrix (Bonnie) and Bobby Hendrix; two great-grandchildren, Naomi Hendrix and Michael Hendrix; several nieces and nephews. Those serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Durham, Eric Garland, Ben Garland, Mickey Mabry, Bill Campbell, Marion Kilnghard, Wayne Blackwood, and Mark Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Maggard, Tony Parrish, Brian Long, Billy Long, Doug Chapman, Tim Bacon, Bill Mills, Danny Tice, and Fred Gray.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Friday, January 19, 2024, with Trent Hill and Jacob Evans officiating. Interment will follow at John Lay Cemetery in Ethridge, TN.
