Janis Marie Bryce Griffis, 82, of Franklin, TN, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at NHC Place of Cool Springs in Franklin, TN. Janis was born in Lawrenceburg, TN, and had a B.S. Degree in nursing from The University of Tennessee Memphis and a Master’s Degree in nursing from The University of Tennessee Knoxville. She dedicated 41 years of her life to the VA Hospital before retiring. Janis was an avid reader and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and family. She also had a deep love for UT Football, Baseball, and Basketball, and was a devoted fan of all sports.
Janis was preceded in death by her parents, Captain Paul Walker Bryce, Jr. and Marie Autry Bryce. She is survived by her son, Brian Osborn (Heather) of Dickson, TN; her sister, Patricia Johnson (Kenneth) of Murfreesboro, TN; her brother, Jerry Bryce (Jennifer) of Lawrenceburg, TN; her two grandchildren, Claire Osborn and James Osborn, both of Dickson, TN; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
