Mrs. Joyce M. Wright, age 77, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at her residence. Joyce was born on July 25, 1947, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to the late Kenneth and Hazel Campbell Smith. She was the beloved wife of Gary Wright, and together they shared sixty years of cherished memories.
Joyce dedicated twenty-seven years as a human resource manager at K-Mart before working as a bank teller at First Farmers and Merchants Bank. She was a devoted member of Coleman Methodist Church in Lawrenceburg and lived her faith through kindness and service to others.
An adventurous spirit, Joyce loved traveling the world and found joy in cooking, golfing, and cheering on her grandchildren at their ball games. An avid Vanderbilt Commodores fan, she never missed an opportunity to support her favorite team.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Gary Wright, her sons Jeff Wright, Keith (Rebecca) Wright, daughter Jill (Matthew) Daniel, sister-in-law Darlene Smith, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, with another expected soon. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenny Smith.
A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM with visitation from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Coleman Methodist Church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Joyce will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
