Waylon Lee Wright, 77, of Florence, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, at his residence. He was born to O.C. Wright and Virginia Green Wright. Waylon was a dedicated employee of TVA and cherished the camaraderie of his crew. He had a passion for patriotism, and he found joy in repairing watches and clocks. Waylon was a devoted member of Creekside Church and took great pleasure in supporting the North Alabama Christian Children’s Home and Chloe’s fund.
Waylon was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Wright. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Wright, and leaves behind a host of friends and family who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 11 AM to 12:45 PM at Elkins Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 1 PM at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, with Billy Coonce officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the North Alabama Children’s Home or a charity of your choice.
