Mary Elizabeth Thompson Hughes, 81, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on January 2, 2025, at Countryside Health and Rehabilitation. Mary was born in Wayne County, TN, and spent her career as a dedicated waitress at Piccadilly Cafeteria. She had a passion for creating greeting cards and collecting jewelry.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Earl and Bertie Gladys Cornelius Thompson, her brother Charles Franklin Thompson, and her sister Peggy Jean Thompson Nesbitt. She is survived by her son, Robert Hughes (Nadra) of Spicewood, TX, and her sisters Mauveline Mitchell and Deanna Pulley (Ray).
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to a floral store in memory of Mary Elizabeth Thompson. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
