Mary Lorene Markus Andrews, age 99, passed away on March 29, 2025. She was born on December 10, 1925, to Willie Neal Markus and Viola Ada Davis Markus. Mary was a devoted member of Long Branch Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delmar Andrews; two sisters, Iva Neal Markus and Mable McGee; four brothers, Edward Markus, James Markus, Willie Markus, Jr., and Cleve Markus; and son-in-law, Van Slater.
Mary is survived by two sisters, Neva Smith and Kathy Barton; one daughter, Janet Slater; one son, Steven Andrews (Shirley); six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 02, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens at 2:30 PM Wednesday, April 02, 2025, with Lanny Tidwell officiating. The family suggests memorials be made to Long Branch Church of Christ.
Mary Lorene Markus Andrews will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
