Mary Louise Cawthon, age 99, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024 at NHC Scott. She was a part owner of City Tinshop with her late husband, where she would handle the day-to-day business and bookkeeping. Later she would go on to retire from Murray Ohio. She was also a talented seamstress who loved to make her own clothing, and had a love for fixing broken things. She was a member of the VFW Ladies auxiliary. She loved to travel and went on several trips with her fellow senior citizens. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred “Jerry” Mitchell Cawthon; son, Ellis Mitchell; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Box; brothers, Eugene Furlong, Ernest “Doc” Furlong, and Carl Furlong; sister, Venettia “Vicky” Johns.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Corbin (Robert); grandchildren, Anthony “Tony” Wayne Mooneyham and Charles Christopher “Chris” Pollock; four great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery.
Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home is in charge of handling all final arrangements.
