Rita Johnson Birdyshaw, 67, of Greenhill, AL, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 1:14pm, after an extended illness. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and was of the Christian faith. Rita’s family was her world, especially those grandbabies. She spent her life helping others, and had the most giving heart, beautiful soul, and loving nature.

Husband: Eddie Birdyshaw
Son: Barry Birdyshaw (Ronda)
Daughters: Julie Collier (Jeremy) & Laura Svetkovich
Brother: Tony Johnson (Cindy)
Sister: Sissy Fowler (Brent Stanford)
Brother-in-law: Tommy Killen
Grandchildren: Maci Birdyshaw (Clay) & Jacob Birdyshaw (Cambree), Clayton Birdyshaw (Jo’ Hannah), Avery & Wheeler Collier, Raelyn & Lyla Svetkovich
Several nieces & nephews, and bonus babies that called her “Nonna” as well

Sister: Rhonda Killen
Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2026, from 11:00am – 1:00pm, at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm, in the funeral home chapel, with Brian Oliver officiating. Burial will be at Lone Cedar Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Killen, Heath Killen, Tommy Killen, Shannon Fowler, Kyle Johnson, and Chris Jackson.
Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
