Mary Pollard Montal, age 78, of Goodlettsville, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Mary was born on July 21, 1946, in Prospect, TN, to Buck and Nannie Mae Dickson Pollard. She was a loving wife to her husband Ron Montal for 44 years and a cherished mother to her son Dewayne Montal and daughter Stephanie Harlan. Mary was also a beloved sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In her younger years, Mary enjoyed decorating cakes, quilting, reading books, and traveling. She had a special fondness for all things related to Christmas and had an impressive collection of Santa figurines and Lladro figurines. Mary’s guilty pleasures included anything chocolate and doting on her fur babies.
Mary will be remembered for her kind and loving nature, as well as her passion for collecting and creating. She will be deeply missed by her family, including her sisters, Betty Sue Stewart and Beverly Hillman, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home, with the funeral service taking place at 11 am on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the same location. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Prospect Cemetery Fund.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Franklin Pollard. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
