Paul L Smith, 82, of Killen, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted Believer, a cherished father, and a beloved Poppa. Paul was a member of the Shoals Antique Tractor Club and had a passion for working in various industries throughout his life. He was known for his exceptional skills as a mechanic and machinist, with the ability to build and fix anything.
Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gloria Mae, a son, Brian, and an infant son. He is survived by his children: Curt (Tammie) Smith, Kim (Jim) Cawthron, Gloria Ayn (Chris) Goar, and Terah (Michael) Jones. He also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren: Lindsey (Shandy), Sawyer, Annie (Andrew), Will, BreAyn, Abbey, and Jonathan, as well as his great-grandchildren: Lukas, Levi, Charlie, and Mabrie. Paul will be dearly missed by a host of special friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16th from 6-8pm at Elkins East Chapel. A private graveside service will take place at Butler Cemetery. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Felix Morris and Gentiva Hospice, especially Emma, for their exceptional care and support.
Paul’s legacy of love, dedication, and ingenuity will forever be cherished by those who knew him. May he rest in peace in his Heavenly Home.
