Shawna Marie Rowan Litaker, 48, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Born in Louisville, KY on May 9, 1976, she was the beloved daughter of Ralph and the late Denise Rowan. Shawna was a dedicated employee at Blue Cross Blue Shield for 18 years and at Kroger for 8 years. She proudly attended Tennessee State University and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Shawna was a fearless, strong, and independent woman who embodied the essence of being a mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She had a passion for music, fashion, and family, and was always available to help others.
Shawna is survived by her children, Gabrielle Litaker, Eboni Litaker, Marcellus Campbell, and Mariah Campbell, and her grandson, Rowen Hillsman. She is also survived by her father, Ralph E Rowan, stepmother Valerie A Rowan, sister Crystal Rowan, step-siblings Tabarri McCullough, Kennan Wynn, and Shakeina Wynn, nieces, nephews, her best friend of 37 years, Shemecia Talley, and her special friend, Timothy White.
Shawna was preceded in death by her mother, Denise Rowan, and sister, Erika Rowan. A ceremony will be hosted on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 12pm-2pm at Bennett-May and Pierce Funeral Home, with a repast for immediate family and close friends to follow. Shawna’s touch reached far beyond what we will ever know, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
