Shirley Jean Murley, 89, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL. Shirley was a devoted member of Deerfield Baptist Church and cherished her family deeply. She was born in Medon, TN, to John and Sallie Bell Maroney Clark.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, James Murley, and her sons, James David Murley Jr. and Ronald Joseph Murley. She is survived by her loving daughters, Janet Derby (Marvin) and Sharon Heard (Joel) of Lawrenceburg, TN; eleven grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson, TN, at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, with Lee Shadrick officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Condolences may be sent through the funeral home’s website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
Shirley will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
