Over the weekend, a Lawrence County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle was damaged as a result of a vehicle fleeing from law enforcement. The incident unfolded on Saturday afternoon when an Ethridge police officer tried to pull over the vehicle on Highway 43 heading south.
Deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office engaged with the vehicle around 1st Street in Lawrenceburg as it continued its southbound journey towards Leoma. Instead of turning onto Glendale Road, the vehicle veered through a ditch and ended up in a parking lot at Glendale and Highway 43.
The pursuit was halted after the individual behind the wheel attempted to leave the parking lot and collided with the front passenger side of the sheriff’s patrol vehicle. Currently, an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
