Recent court filings reveal that two individuals have been indicted on various drug-related charges following grand jury proceedings held in November in Lauderdale County. One of the accused, John Joseph Cabral Jr., a 70-year-old resident of Florence, faces multiple allegations including trafficking methamphetamine, illegal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Law enforcement officials reported that Cabral was apprehended on July 26 after a search warrant was executed at his home located on Lauderdale County Road 107. During the operation, agents from the Lauderdale County Drug Task Force and the Florence/Lauderdale Special Operations team uncovered 32 grams of crystal methamphetamine, along with marijuana, mushrooms, and various drug paraphernalia.
In a separate case, Brandon Jamal Harden, a 36-year-old, has been indicted on charges that include fentanyl trafficking, two counts of chemical endangerment of a child, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The indictment specifically mentions two minors, aged six and eleven, in connection with the charges against Harden. According to the affidavit, during a traffic stop conducted on November 21, deputies from the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office found 39 fentanyl pills, 12 hydrocodone pills, and additional drug paraphernalia in Harden’s possession.
