Barbara Jean Pitts, 81, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on June 19th, 2025, at Elk River Nursing and Rehab. Born on July 11th, 1943, in Fayetteville, TN, Barbara was a former secretary at Brady Tile and Marble and worked for many years at Lincoln County Adult Education. She enjoyed bird watching, sewing, and crafts and was a member of Park City Baptist Church.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Martha Baker Smith, and her brother Joe Maurice Smith. She is survived by her son, Howard (Tracie) Pitts of Taft, TN, granddaughters Heather (José) Román of Philadelphia, PA, Halie (Matt) Cantor of Huntsville, AL, great-grandsons Knox Cantor and Sebastián Román, sister-in-law Fay Smith, nephew Troy Smith, niece Tori (Chad) Tipps, best friend Anita Locker, several great-nieces and nephews, and a host of other friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm in the chapel. The burial will be held at a later date. Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for Barbara Jean Pitts.
