Betty Marie Hammond Scott, 86, of Lexington, AL, passed away on June 25, 2025, at NAMC. Betty was a retired LPN and Cardiac Nurse at ECM Hospital and a devoted member of North Carolina Church of Christ.
Betty is survived by her son Gerald Scott (Amy), daughter Janet Davis (Kevin), granddaughter Andrea White (Nick), honorary grandchildren Lilly, Whitlee, Chloe, Ali, Zeppelin, Gage, Onyx, Waylon, and Millie, in-laws Mitchell Scott, Shelby Scott, Katherine Scott, and Jimmie Hammond, special cousin and lifelong neighbor Jackie Killen, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, and her special furbaby Daisy.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jasper Calvin Hammond and Virginia Irene England Hammond, husband James Rayburn Scott, brothers Edgar Hammond and Kenneth Hammond, and sister Ruby Doris Arnold.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Tommy Ruple officiating. Burial will be in Tabernacle Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony Stokes, Wendell Hammond, Nick Waller, and Josh Hammond.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the NAMC 4th Floor Nurses, Dr. Mitchell, Dr. Al-Taie, Dr. Boye, Amedisys Home Health, and her caregivers Tammy Cabler, Diane Hurst, Robbie Martin, Kathy Pennington, and Judy Rogers.
