Samuel Ozell Gist, 82, of Killen, AL, passed away at his home on April 17, 2024. Ozell was retired from Reynold’s Aluminum and was a proud United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Church Of Christ faith and also a member of American Legion Post #146 in Loretto, TN.
Ozell is survived by:
Son: Michael Gist
Sister: Frances Cain
Brother: Steve Gist (Brenda)
Grandchildren: Taylor Jones (Jackson), Zane Gist, & Brody Myrick
Great-grandchildren (who Ozell especially loved) : Dawson Jones and Dutton Jones
Numerous Nieces and Nephews
He was preceded in death by:
Parents: Leonard Gist and Gladys Jones Gist
Sisters: Movaline Young, Lucille Gladney, and Debbie Phillips
There will be a graveside service for Ozell on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. at Shiloh Cemetery with full military honors with Tom Reeves officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to American Legion Post #146 in Loretto, TN in Ozell’s memory.
