Danny Richardson, born on November 14, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on October 18, 2025, in Killen, Alabama. He was a devoted husband to his best friend, Roberta Rauch, and a loving brother to Barbara Brown and Mickey Richardson. He dedicated his life to serving those who were mentally ill or suffering from poverty, and he was especially committed to feeding hungry children, believing that “No child should go hungry.”
Danny’s impact extended beyond his professional life, as he was a long-time Sunday School teacher and a passionate advocate for organic gardening and beekeeping. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to making the world a better place.
Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Richardson, a brother Carlos Richardson, and nephews Mark Peters and Allen Richardson. He is survived by his wife, Roberta, his brother Mickey Richardson, sister-in-law Marilyn Rauch, and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 2:00pm, at Bishop’s Chapel Cemetery, with Rev. Josh Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Helen Keller Foundation Parkinson’s Program.
Danny’s legacy of compassion and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
